External EEPROM and RAM

ADAU1452 board has space for SPI eeprom in DIP8 package, connected directly to DSP master control port. By the way, master control port can be used in some algorithms also for extending RAM memory through an external RAM IC, in order to have a longer delay time available for delay effects. If you intend to use extended delay time it’s best to have both memories, EEPROM and RAM, on a shield PCB.

EEPROM IC: Microchip 25AA1024

RAM IC: Microchip 23LC1024

CS pin of 25AA1024 must be connected to SS_M pin on ADAU1452 board, pull-up resistor is not needed as it’s already available on dsp board.

CS pin of 23LC1024 needs to be connected to MP8 pin of ADAU1452 board and a 10K pull-up resistor to 3.3V must be connected.

100n or similar value caps are raccomanded for filtering, they must be placed as close as possible to VCC pins. Keep MISO, MOSI and SCLK traces as short as possible.
